Multica / Workspaces and Teams
Members and Permissions
What each of the three roles in the workspace - owner, admin, and member - can do, and how to add people to it.

Overview
Everyone in the workspace has a role, and the role determines what that person can do. Multica provides three types: owner (owner of the workspace), admin (administrator), and member (ordinary member). Most daily tasks - creating issues, writing comments, using agents - can be done by all three roles, and the difference is focused on team management.
Permissions overview
The following table lists the most critical differences between the three roles in team management operations:
| action | owner | admin | member |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invite new admin or member | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ |
| Invite new owner | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ |
| Downgrade/Remove admin or member | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ |
| Downgrade / Remove other owners | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ |
| Delete workspace | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ |
Member cannot invite new people - The ability to invite is an administrator-level permission. Only owner can promote others to owner - admin can promote and demote members or other admins, but cannot create new owners. Likewise, an admin can remove members or other admins, but cannot touch existing owners. This is to ensure that "highest authority" can only be granted by people who already have the highest authority to avoid permission proliferation.
The visibility of the agent is divided into two types: "workspace" and "private". For private agents, only the owner and admin can assign it to an issue - this is to protect configurations that are only used by specific people. See agents for details.
Invite new members
Multica invites new members via email:
- Set the page Invite Members in the workspace, fill in the other party's email address and select a role.
- Multica sends an invitation email containing an exclusive link.
- The other party clicks the link, logs in (or registers), and then accepts the invitation to officially become a member of the workspace.
The invited email address does not need to be registered with Multica in advance - if the account does not exist, the system will automatically create it when the other party accepts the invitation.
If the invitation email fails to be sent (for example, the email address is written incorrectly, or the email service fails), the invitation record will still be retained; you can resend the invitation email on the workspace settings page, or directly send the invitation link to the other party through other channels.
Invitation valid for 7 days. After the expiration, the other party who clicks on the link will see an "expired" prompt and needs to be resent by the inviter.
Keep at least one owner
Each workspace must have at least one owner at all times. This constraint will automatically block two operations:
- The last owner cannot demote himself.
- Other owners or admins cannot remove the last owner.
If you are the last owner and are ready to leave the team, transfer the owner role to another member before trying to exit or hand over the workspace. Otherwise the operation will be rejected.
Remove member
owner and admin can remove other members from the workspace. The removed member immediately loses access rights; issues, comments, etc. previously created by TA will remain in the workspace.
